Tiger Balm : the unconquerable treatment
The
Tiger Balm had risen from the courts of ancient Chinese emperors to worldwide distribution. The
Tiger Balm story had begun when Aw Chu Kin, a Chinese herbalist working for the emperor's court, left
China and moved to a small pharmacy store called Eng Aun Tong in Rangoon, Burma in the late 1970s. He made and sold his own
ointments there for all kinds of pain.
When he died in 1908, Aw Chu Kin left his small business to his two sons Aw Boon Haw (gentle tiger) and Aw Boon Par (gentle leopard) who decided to move the pharmacy store to Singapore and sell their ointments in most important cities in China. Aw Boon Haw had a
brilliant marketing idea to call
the ointment "Tiger Balm".
Tiger Balm has been a worldwide success and continues relieving pain encountered even today. With over 100 years of track record in over 100 countries, Tiger Balm remains a basic in the first aid kit regardless of the age and lifestyle of the consumer.
Tiger Balm puts health at the top of its priority list, and even offers a series of massages for relieving muscle pain, headaches, and contusion.
