Nomade Palize, a committed and responsible business
In accordance with the specifications of ECOCERT ESR -EQUITABLE SOLIDAIRE et RESPONSABLE, the
Nomade Palize brand works in partnership with local producers which the company has grouped into
associations or cooperatives, on the basis of collective contracts.
These balanced trade relationships allow for a better distribution of income. A percentage of product sales is paid into a development fund and dedicated to
improving the lives of local population.
A technician or an agricultural engineer is recruited by
Nomade Palize to ensure the implementation of production campaigns and quality monitoring for each product and each supply zone. This local contact is also an essential relay for monitoring local development projects.
The main pillars of local development are:
- Technical support to producers
- Diversification of products and family income
- Improvement of technical cultivation routes: the producers, with the support of advisers recruited by Nomade Palize, have thus set up alfalfa crops under date palm trees : this increases nitrogen inputs at the roots, limits the drying out of the soils and provides an additional feed resource for livestock.
Most of the products marketed by
Nomade Palize are not only certified
“organic” but also
“fair”. In fact, since 2007, the company has been engaged in a control and certification program for the supply chains of its dates and roses with
ECOCERT.
The production, processing, import and distribution sites of products are checked on yearly basis according to the
ESR (EQUITABLE SOLIDAIRE RESPONSABLE) standard.
The certification by an independent body guarantees that the following principles are adhered by the company:
- Partnership with producers: to encourage local know-how, the empowerment of producers and the maintenance of the rural community
- Ethics: to ensure decent working conditions, a guaranteed minimum price and the establishment of a development fund for communities
- Responsibility: to preserve biodiversity, protect the environment and develop organic farming
- Transparency: to put out information and increase consumer awareness on fair trade practices
