Fresh and delicate
While the essence of sweet orange is obtained by mechanical expression of the zest, the essential oil of this bitter orange, or sour orange, is obtained by distillation of the young twigs furnished with tiny fruits at the beginning of their development and similar to " small grains ”.
The most famous essential oil comes to us from Paraguay. Choose organic quality! It guarantees you a quality essential oil produced by the Indian populations who can thus make a decent living from their environment and stay there. Unique feature: their stills are made of wood!
The aroma it gives off is fresh, green, enveloping, slightly bitter.
North Africa, Egypt in particular, also provides an essential oil of small grain of excellent quality but whose bitterness is generally more accentuated.
Advice from André Bitsas (extracts from his book
Aromatherapy Body and Soul , Éditions Amyris):
"
Petit Grain Bigarade essential oil rebalances the nervous system . By schematizing, we can say that it is the most effective to counteract the nervous disorders manifesting above the diaphragm. Therefore, it effectively regulates the respiratory systems. and cardiac : feeling of lack of air, heart subject to arrhythmias, extrasystoles,… (…) For all these indications, external uses are preferred , whether it is friction or atmospheric diffusion. "
Petit Grain Bigarade essential oil supports the heart in both senses of this expression. It soothes, protects and reassures wounded and lonely hearts . If loneliness is badly lived, if the stress, the spasms, the poor quality sleep have an eminently emotional cause, it is to that it is necessary to think in priority. The two fields of application combined, the EO of Petit Grain Bigarade is best expressed in external use : anointing (like a perfume), friction, massage, bath (do not forget the emulsifier required), diffuser of aromas.
