Native to Madagascar, the ravintsara grows wild in tropical and humid forests. Delicately scented, the scent of its essential oil is similar to those of lavender and rosemary.
It gives off a green, warm, penetrating aroma.

" Ravintsara stimulates weakened immunity and is powerfully antiviral. To be used in cases of influenza, viral bronchitis, shingles, herpes, infectious mononucleosis. For respiratory problems, it can be used in atmospheric diffusion, but especially in friction, of because of its excellent skin tolerance. In prevention, we will not hesitate to rub it on the thorax. For diseases of babies: rub on the arch of the foot. Ravintsara also has neurotonic properties: it helps in cases of insomnia , depression, anxiety. For these applications also, the cutaneous interface will be preferred. "

Use
respiratory conditions affecting the nose, throat and ears
External use: 5 drops of ravintsara essential oil, 3 times a day, massaged on either side of the spine or on the thorax, depending on the ailments to be treated.
Trick
During winter epidemics, 6 drops of ravintsara essential oil applied locally on the arch or on the thorax, morning and evening, will protect you against viral attacks.
Against a cold sore (A. Bitsas): mix equal parts of essential oil of ravintsara and niaouli , and apply 1 to 2 drops per day as long as necessary.
To strengthen the body of young children (A.-F. Malotaux, Pranarôm): put 20 drops of jojoba or hazelnut vegetable oil in the palm of your hand, add 1 drop of ravintsara essential oil and 1 drop of Ho wood essential oil; dilute well, rub hands together and apply to the child's arch.
