Shea Butter or vegetable butter is an edible substance extracted from shea fruit, a tree that grows in West Africa and whose name means "life" in Dioula.Shea nuts harvested between mid-June and mid-September are freed from the pulp. This gives a nut which is recovered almond. Is washed and left to dry. It is then crushed, roasted, ground to a thick paste mixed with water will vigorously churned. Immersion in boiling water will help to separate the butter from the other components of the kernel, including impurities settle to the bottom of recipient. Once removed, the surface floating butter is blended before being cooked at length to allowing water to evaporate and to contaminants to settle.
